Visit Murano, the most visited Venetian island, famous for the exquisite glasswork produced there. Venetians have been making crystal and glass since the 10th Century after merchants brought back the secrets of production from the East. The industry was moved to the island of Murano in the 13th century.
What's the plan:
Your private guide will escort you to board your motor launch. Sail across the scenic Venetian Lagoon on a motorboat and soak in the vibrant and scenic sights around you.
Hop off at Murano, which is the most famous of the Venetian Islands, and the most visited because of the famous "Murano Glass". You'll visit a famous glass-factory where you'll see an example of glass-blowing as well as visit the factory's showroom full of beautiful glassware that exemplify the high quality of glass produced on the Island. Enjoy a glass-blowing presentation and see traditional craftsmen at work, churning out exquisite glasswork.
After the showroom, explore the picturesque island with your private guide and visit historic attractions like the wonderful and unique San Donato's Church (a masterpiece of Venetian architecture), Murano's lighthouse and San Peter's Church (a jewel of the Italian Renaissance).
The tour ends in the centre of Venice. After touring the 2 islands, re-board the motor launch to cross the lagoon back to Venice.
